Fiesta!
Fiesta! was composed following a commission to write a commemorative farewell to the Ford Fiesta, which ceased global production in July 2023. The piece was created from recordings made of the interior and exterior sounds of a 2022 Ford Fiesta and Fiesta ST, combined with the stories of Fiesta owners, workers and enthusiasts, and the children of Orchard Village in Dagenham.
The Ballad of Berwick Street Market
“The Ballad of Berwick Street Market” features the voices of the people who work on Soho’s 300 yr-old market, describing the work they do, what Berwick Street means to them and the threat to their livelihoods from the proposed privatisation of the market, with their words interwoven with other field recordings made in and around Soho to form the basis for the piece. Dai appeared on BBC Radio London shortly after the release to talk to Robert Elms about the work and the future of the market.
